Class A CDL Driver – Altoona, PA – Daily Home Time

Hiring experienced Class A CDL drivers for a dedicated freight route servicing Norfolk Southern. Home daily Monday–Thursday with one layover Friday. Drivers handle drop-and-hook, driver unloads, and some tailgating.

Job Details:

• Pay: $0.58/mile for new hires, $0.59/mile after 12 months; $18/hour; average weekly pay $1,800–$1,900
• Bonuses:
• • New Hire Transition Bonus: $500 (2nd paycheck)
  • Referral Bonus: $3,000 (staged over 2nd paycheck, 60 days, 120 days)
• Schedule: Monday–Saturday (strict departure times; specific route schedule)
• Home Time: Daily M–Th; Friday layover returns Sat evening
• Mileage: 2,400–2,800 miles/week
• Freight: Railroad parts, some Hazmat (~20% of loads)
• Equipment: 2022+ Kenworth or Freightliner tractors with tandem axle sleepers, 53’ dry van trailer, automatic transmission
• Load/Unload: Driver unload required; tailgating assistance for certain freight
• Stop Pay / Accessorials:
• • Stop pay: $14/start at 1st stop
  • Tailgating: $10 per tailgate
  • Delay pay: $17/hr (over 60 min)
  • Equipment breakdown pay: $17/hr (max 9 hrs)

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months tractor-trailer experience
• Hazmat endorsement required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
