Class A CDL Intermodal Driver – Chicago, IL Semi-Local

Position Overview
We are hiring Class A CDL regional drivers for intermodal routes out of Chicago, IL. Drivers will haul dry van freight across Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin. This position features consistent miles and freight, no driver unload, and predictable home time twice per week.

Pay & Compensation

• Starting Pay: $0.62 per mile
• Night Differential: $0.06 per mile (Mon–Fri, 7 PM–4 AM)
• Weekend Differential: $0.12 per mile (Fri 7 PM–Mon 4 AM)
• Stop Pay: $20 per stop
• Average Weekly Pay: $1,200 – $1,500
• Weekly Mileage: 1,500–2,000 miles
• No bonuses or transition pay

Schedule & Home Time

• Home twice per week
• Both day and night shifts available
• Weekend and holiday work required if scheduled
• Stable regional routes with minimal inner-city driving

Route & Freight Details

• Territory: IL, IN, IA, MI, WI
• Freight Type: Dry van intermodal
• Duties: Live load, live unload, drop and hook (no driver unload required)
• Specialized Equipment: Hazmat preferred but not required
• Slip seat not required

Equipment

• Standard intermodal dry van
• Regional operations; drivers operate assigned equipment

Job Duties

• Transport freight safely and efficiently across multiple states
• Maintain schedule and communicate with dispatch
• Ensure freight security and compliance with DOT regulations

Requirements

• Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months driving experience
• Reliable, safety-minded, and able to handle Chicago traffic and winter weather driving
• Able to work day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays
